LS- South

My name is Alida South and I feel fortunate to be working in Literacy Support this year. I am very excited to be at Herons Crossing School working with multiple ages and grade levels this year. Nine years ago, I taught Grade 2 at Nose Creek Elementary and some of you may have known me then as Miss Moon.

Since then, I got married, had a baby, taught Kindergarten, had another baby, taught Kindergarten again, then Grade 2 for a few years and now teaching Literacy in my fourth year at HCS! Phew - that was a long summary! ;)

I have 12+ years of teaching experience, starting out in the Northern Gateway School Division, then moving South with my husband.  We live in Airdrie with our two children, Mason and Ally. As a family we like to head out to the mountains as often as we can and enjoy the outdoors together! My husband, Ken plays recreational hockey and also coaches Mason's Hockey Team. Our daughter loves ringette, gymnastics and swimming, and I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, and practicing Yoga and boxing whenever I can fit it into our busy schedules!

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in Grade Two, I love teaching, and I look forward to adding another wonderful year here at Herons Crossing!!
